Society of English Language Teachers – Okinawa

Instructions for Submission of Papers

1. Research papers, practiced-based reports, book reviews, and other works intended for publication in the Society of English Language Teachers – Okinawa are encouraged. Research papers should have the following: title, introduction, purpose, body (method, results, discussion), conclusion, notes, and references. Practiced-based reports should not only include the lesson plan, but should also include the instructor’s viewpoint with the class and the results.

2. The type written manuscript should be an A5 size, and the format should be 29 lines of 32 characters per page if typing in Japanese, and 29 lines of 64 characters per page if typing in English. The maximum length of a research paper or the practiced-based reports should be 20 to 30 pages; book reviews should be 5 to 10 pages; other works do not have to follow a format.

3. Include eight hard copies using a horizontal A4 folded in half to make two A5 sheets (two columns on a horizontal A4 will make two A5 sheets).

4. When using English have your paper proof read by a native speaker of English before handing it in. When using English, follow the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (4th Ed).

5. Submission of an article is taken to imply that it has not previously been published, or is not being considered for publication elsewhere.

6. Except when a special invitation is issued, a contributor should be a member of the Society of English Language Teachers – Okinawa.

7. Deadline for submission is the end of May. Contributions can be sent or handed directly to the chief editor of the Society of English Language Teachers – Okinawa

8. A contributor will contribute \10,000 to offset the publishing costs. All contributors will receive 5 copies of the journal. Offprints will be printed at your request and will be an additional fee.

9. The editorial committee is consisted of members of the Society of English Language Teachers – Okinawa. All contributions are subject to discussion and the committee will give suggestions and comments to the contributor if needed.
